A 900 kWp intelligent solar power plant. When completed, K-citymarket Länsikeskus was the largest solar power plant in Finland.
2,600 high-efficiency solar panels produce 15% of the property's annual energy needs and on summer days up to 60% of the property's consumption. In addition to the panels, the power plant uses intelligent inverters and power optimizers.
The power plant is connected to the central control of building automation. This lowers operating and maintenance costs when power plant monitoring and maintenance tasks are integrated into normal property management.
Production data is transmitted via the interface to the energy portfolio of the asset managers, in which case the effect of production on the change in the consumption profile can be taken into account in the procurement of electricity purchased from the network. This brings recurring cost savings.
“We found that prices are at a reasonable level and that we can receive about 9-11% profit for our investments”
The power plant's production statistics are presented in the property's advertising display systems. In addition to the power plant's production data, the screens can display the store's own advertisements. The layout and content are tailored to suit Kesko's brand. Production data is presented in a format that is easily internalized by the customer. Instead of kilowatts, production data is compared to, for example, electric car mileage
