Solnet Group continues rapid growth in Europe and is scouting for new team members

Project Wuppertal Germany, 444 kWp

Founded in 2014, Solnet quickly became the largest provider of clean energy to the Finnish grid. To become this, they beat the odds so to say. As the Nordic climate is well known for its abundance of snow and its shortage of sun hours, Solnet has found the recipe to making solar PV an attractive investment, even in Finland. Today Solnet is one of the fastest-growing energy companies in Europe.

Pan-European player
Solnet has two offices in Helsinki and Amsterdam and has become a fast-growing European player in the solar development market. Despite the COVID pandemic, the order book continues to expand especially in Nordics, the Benelux and Germany. Solnet Group has now successfully completed various projects in Germany, but the pipeline continues to fill.

Solnet services a variety of international clients, including some of the Fortune500, to achieve their sustainability goals and strive for optimal reduction of CO2 emissions. For example, Solnet has carried out projects for IKEA, Lidl and DHL, among others. With the ability to deliver across the whole of Europe, Solnet goes to where its customers want to make their locations more sustainable. Our target is to be a TOP3 supplier for B2B rooftop PV in Europe by 2024.

Formula for success
The company, founded by Kaj Kangasmäki and Arttur Kulvik, is ranked 3rd in energy companies, on the list of fastest-growing companies in Europe, compiled by the Financial Times.

The founders themselves attribute their great success to a number of things. Kangasmäki: All our employees are very aware of the wishes and requirements of our customers. Together with our extensive knowledge of developing the best solar utilities, customer centricity is an important variable in the way we work. In any case, we want to deliver top projects with the safest hardware of the highest quality”.

Kulvik adds: “Since the beginning, our focus has been on making onsite renewable energy generation easy, safe and profitable for our customers. IRR is still a key driver of investments and we provide investors with the needed information for decision making with key insight into future regulatory framework, subsidy policies and cost of O&M for the long lifecycle of the utility.”

Constantly looking for new talent
To keep up with growth, Solnet is continuously looking for qualified and motivated team members.
Kulvik: “We are always on the look for good people for our team. For example, we are looking for a country manager, technical project managers and maintenance employees for the German market. If you are interested, please send us an email and keep an eye on our Linkedin company page for the latest vacancies.”
